About the Speaker


Michael T. Buell, FSMPS, CPSM, Associate DBIA
Michael Buell has been a strategic marketing and client development professional in the A/E/C industry for nearly 30 years. He has worked with regional, national, and global construction, architecture and engineering firms, building strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and peers along the way. His career with companies of different sizes and disciplines has deepened his experience, knowledge, and understanding of how architects and engineers can be most successful. Through it all, Michael always strives to help others build better and more abundant client relationships.

Michael currently leads the client development and corporate marketing efforts for a design-build mechanical construction firm. He serves as President of the DBIA Utah chapter and is a member of its national education faculty. Michael is also President of the ACE Mentor Program of America’s Utah chapter and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Utah. A longtime SMPS member, Michael co-founded the Northeast Ohio chapter; chaired the inaugural Heartland Regional Conference; and is co-creator and lead instructor of the Business Development Institute, among other accomplishments. He combines a theater performance background with industry expertise as an engaging speaker at SMPS and other industry and corporate programs on a regular basis.
