This session will be a panel of fellow AEC marketing specialists to discuss how to market your firm and maintain brand consistency through a major leadership transition or merger/acquisition. What are different strategies for marketing the change, both internally at your firm and externally to the public and your clients? What are the best tricks and tips to create a toolkit to make this process more efficient and proactive? Are there best practices to make the process less stressful on you and your marketing team? Join SMPS-TC as we learn from fellow local AEC marketing experts on navigating tough public relations challenges and maintaining brand integrity through these changes.

About the Speakers


Clare Scott, Vice President of Marketing, Ryan Companies US, Inc.

Clare has over 25 years of experience in lead marketing roles for professional service firms, with particular expertise in “startup” roles for companies with new or growing marketing functions. As Vice President of Marketing, she develops and implements Ryan’s national marketing strategy, and works with the regional offices on implementation and execution of those strategies.


Leslee Le Roux, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, TKDA

Leslee joined TKDA as a marketing manager when the firm acquired a Duluth architecture firm six years ago. She then accepted her current position and has been a member of the firm’s leadership team since 2015. A graduate of the University of Minnesota, she is a member of the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and its Executive Committee and serves on the board of the Downtown Saint Paul YMCA. 


Elizabeth Harriman, Associate/Director of Communications, Michaud Cooley Erickson

As the Director of Communications for a 130-person mechanical and electrical engineering firm, Elizabeth Harriman enjoys a wide variety of responsibilities and the opportunity to work closely with the leadership team at Michaud Cooley Erickson. Evident from her background in both the arts and the sciences, Elizabeth has a unique ability to be pragmatic while, at the same time, think outside of the box finding creative solutions to challenges. This has proven to be a great set of skills when working with a firm full of engineers! Outside of the office, Elizabeth enjoys exploring Northeast Minneapolis where she lives with her husband and two dogs, Ava and Pigley. 


Moderator: Alethia Fowler, CPSM, Marketing Manager, Corval Group

As a 20-year AEC marketer and construction enthusiast, Alethia Fowler has led marketing and communications efforts for design and construction firms both locally and nationally. From pursuits to events to public relations, Alethia helps companies grow their businesses and navigate change. She is a Certified Professional Services Marketer and Past President of SMPS-TC. In her free time, Alethia enjoys travel, baking, and naps with her dachshund.
