2015-2016 Year in Review

As the 2015-2016 SMPS-TC program year comes to an end, I want to take this opportunity to thank our members, volunteers and board for a great year. As an organization, we’ve done some remarkable work this year. In addition to our diverse education programming, some highlights include:

  • New Member Breakfast – Started a New Member Orientation program. We went to Edina Grill in January and new members were able to enjoy a breakfast on SMPS-TC and an opportunity to connect with board members, network with each other and learn more about member benefits.
  • Video Library – To give members, especially those outstate, access to our programs, we began recording and posting them to a secure “members-only” page on our website. There is no fee for this additional resource.
  • Member Profile on Blog – We moved forward with this initiative to recognize members and have profiled five members since rolling out the feature in January.
  • Sock Drive – We collected more than 300 pairs of socks (total donation valued at $1,500) for a downtown Minneapolis homeless shelter.

Serving as President has been one of the greatest highlights on my marketing career. I’ve met and talked with many of you at meetings and networking events. I am proud to be part of such an engaged, hardworking and innovative community of marketers and business developers. Our membership is growing and I’m so very fortunate to have been here to see all these great things unfold.

Once again, thank you to all for a very successful year. It is truly something that was accomplished by everyone working together.  Have a safe and enjoyable summer!
