CPSM (Certified Professional Services Marketer)

CPSM Study Group

The CPSM Study Group for the 2016-2017 SMPS year has concluded. Information for the 2017-2018 year CPSM Study Group will be posted as it becomes available.

As our industry continues moving forward, investing in yourself is becoming more important than ever. Becoming a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) is a great way to position yourself as a leader in the A/E/C industry. Having this designation on your resume gives you a differentiator over someone else with the same experience, but without the certification.

Offered by SMPS, the recognized leader in education and information for marketing professional services, the CPSM credential is a voluntary certification designed to elevate professional standards in marketing, and influence the future of this vital field. Furthermore, the CPSM designation serves as a mark of distinction for professional services marketers and business developers, raising their standing with their employers, peers, and the public.

The achievement offers you a wide range of important benefits:

  • Increased knowledge in strategic market planning, market research, plan implementation, business development, and promotion
  • Demonstrates your dedication to the professional services marketing profession
  • Industry recognition of professional competence
  • Enhanced credibility with employers, clients, and peers
  • Improved ability to compete in the job market
  • Potential for increased compensation and benefits
  • Career advancement
  • Public recognition in the roster of CPSMs on the SMPS web site
  • Invitation to CPSM-only educational and networking programs
  • Access to the CPSM communities on MySMPS

The Twin Cities Chapter offers a free CPSM Study Group once a year. The study group provides a structured program for reading the material and reviewing materials together. More than anything it helps to provide a schedule and accountability to the group. More detailed information will be sent to interested participants prior to the date of this first session.

If you would like to participate or have questions about the group, please email SMPS Twin Cities President Scott Peak, CPSM.
